Free Sunscreen: sunscreen is free all year round at BTX Bar

There is an aesthetic medicine treatment that takes only a few seconds a day, is budget-friendly, requires no specialist appointments, and is backed by decades of scientific evidence. It’s called SPF sunscreen.

That’s why, starting today, all BTX Bar clinics now offer Free Sunscreen, a complimentary sunscreen dispenser available to patients and visitors, featuring an unmistakable design in true BTX Bar style. Because the best medicine—even for your skin—is prevention.

Sunscreen isn't just for summer

It’s one of the hardest myths to debunk. Many people only apply sunscreen at the beach or during the summer months, thinking the sun is more harmful on hot days.

Sunlight is the engine of life on our planet and is responsible for numerous health benefits: it stimulates vitamin D synthesis (essential for bones and boosting the immune system), promotes the release of serotonin and endorphins to improve mood, regulates circadian rhythms to help with sleep, and has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties that can help soothe certain skin conditions.
But ultraviolet (UV) radiation also has negative consequences. UVA raysUVA rays, which make up 95% of the rays that reach the Earth, are also "silent killers" responsible for photoaging and melanoma. Capable of penetrating deep into the dermis, they pass through clouds and even the windows of our homes, and have no correlation with temperature. The intensity of these rays is highest when the sun is at its peak, generally between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., regardless of the perceived heat. That is why it is important to protect yourself even on cooler days.
The UVB rays make up the remaining portion (5%) of solar rays; they have a shorter wavelength, penetrate the epidermis, and are responsible for sunburn, erythema, and skin cancer.
Your skin is therefore exposed daily to cumulative damage that can promote wrinkles, dark spots, loss of elasticity, collagen degradation, and melanoma.

For this reason, leading dermatological scientific societies recommend the daily use of a broad-spectrum sunscreen (at least SPF 30), regardless of the season, especially for the face and sun-exposed areas.

SPF: the best ally for aesthetic treatments

You can have the most expensive skincare in the world, you can get PRX, biostimulation, lasers, fillers, or Botox… But if you go out without SPF, you aren't taking care of your skin's health.

Protecting your skin from UV exposure means helping to preserve the results you've achieved, reducing the risk of discoloration, and supporting the skin's natural regeneration processes.

The truly decisive factors for the effectiveness of a sunscreen are not the price, but its protection factor and how it is used. The SPF value indicates the level of protection against UVB rays, which cause erythema and sunburn, but that alone is not enough: it is important to choose a broad-spectrumsunscreen, capable of also shielding against UVA rays, which are more involved in photoaging, dark spots, and loss of skin elasticity. Your skin typealso matters: very fair skin, with light eyes or a tendency to burn easily, will need higher and more consistent protection compared to darker skin, which is still not immune to sun damage. Another often underestimated point is the amount: applying too little drastically reduces the product's effectiveness, even when the stated SPF is high.

Ashot glass (two tablespoons) of sunscreen is enough for the entire body, with an amount equal to a five-cent coin just for the face.
Finally, sunscreen only works if it is used regularly: to achieve the stated effectiveness, the product must be applied generously and reapplied every 2 hours (or after swimming or excessive sweating).

The best protection isn't necessarily the most expensive, but the one that's right for your skin, applied well and consistently.
