Aesthetic Medicine Handbook

How to avoid fake doctors and choose a professional
“Would you ever let a hairdresser perform heart surgery on you?” BTX Bar® Italia launches a guide to safety in aesthetic medicine treatments
Rome, 03/25/2025 Recent news reports have once again highlighted a serious and increasingly widespread problem: the proliferation of invasive aesthetic treatments performed by non-medical personnel in centers lacking health authorization.
Procedures that, while presented as simple aesthetic treatments, are in reality full-fledged aesthetic medicine practices that require specialized skills and high safety standards.
The news
It was reported this morning, for example, that in Rome alone, 25% of beauty centers are operating illegally. Investigations conducted by the NAS (Health and Hygiene Police) have uncovered numerous irregularities, including the improper use of tools such as the hyaluron pen to inject hyaluronic acid deep into the dermis, a practice reserved exclusively for experienced doctors.
These incidents demonstrate how crucial it is to distinguish between superficial aesthetic treatments and medical procedures to ensure patient safety.
BTX Bar® Italia, the first botox bar established in 2021, has always been committed to promoting safe, ethical, and transparent aesthetic medicine. In its clinics, every treatment is performed by highly qualified doctors using certified products and rigorous protocols that meet the highest medical and health standards.
"We founded BTX Bar because we believe that aesthetic medicine should be accessible to everyone and because we want to bridge the gap between doctor and patient, offering care and treatments in an informal setting. But accessibility does not mean lowering safety standards or turning a blind eye to prevention.” So states Flavio Ronzi, one of the founders of BTX Bar.
The Guide
“True well-being - continued the scientific director of BTX Bar Camilla di Pasquali - it is not found by chasing unrealistic standards or relying on amateurs. A procedure performed by unqualified personnel in unsuitable or unlicensed environments can jeopardize your health and, in the most serious cases, even your life.
Aesthetic medicine is not a trend to follow, but a conscious choice that must always guarantee safety and professionalism. For this reason, we have decided to launch the handbook “Would you ever have heart surgery at a hair salon?”.
The campaign, launched today on the botoxbar.it website, is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of relying exclusively on certified professionals. Starting today, a guide will be available on the BTX Bar website and social media channels to inform patients and help them steer clear of all those practices that are unsuitable and harmful to their health.
The campaign will continue over the coming months with a series of awareness events, because self-care is a right, but it must be pursued with respect for safety and legality.
BTX Bar® Italy – Best Aesthetic Results. Safety, professionalism, transparency.
